Sending sunshine to all!
I don’t know about you, but I have serious cabin fever. Especially after that wonderful taste of Spring we shared last week. If you are feeling the same way, or just want to treat yourself to a sort of in-home spa situation, I may have the solution!
Remember all the herbs you brought into your living room and kitchen when it started to get crazy cold outside? Okay, we are about to put those babies to good use my friends. This is a simple and luxurious remedy for anything from drowsy gray vibes, to just wanting a little bit of lovin’ on yourself, to a serious immune booster.
I have seen this done with eucalyptus, but today I used rosemary, bay laurel, peppermint and lemon/orange peels. All of these plants are beautiful to look at (we all need a little pleasing aesthetics in our lives), and smell amazing! They also strengthen your immune system and work as expectorants for overcoming that residual ick you can’t seem to get rid of.
Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs. Not only for cooking but also it’s powerful therapeutic benefits. Rosemary is a strong antioxidant and it may be anticarcinogenic. It works wonders opening up your nasal passages and chest as well as helping your memory, and this mama brain definitely needs that!
Bay Laurel. Mostly known for being used in cooking, like rosemary. However, this beautiful plant is also a first-rate expectorant and it has serious anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Feel like a queen with this “crown” of laurels!
Orange and Lemon smell SO incredible, especially as they are in season this time of year— all the more reason to stock up! Both are great for helping your digestion get back on track, purifying your insides, and are wonderful for your skin.
Peppermint. Anyone who takes a deep breath of this instantly feels energized and clear-headed. Peppermint has superb anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, as well as being another plant that aids in digestion. Plus, it makes your breath smell good and your body feel fresh. Nothing better!!
Please, let me know what you think!
Tip: gently bruise the leaves to release more of those wonderful oils in the steam. These beauty bundles last for about 3-5 days. Refresh it when you feel the need!
Blessings and Be Well,
